
James Kreider - Varsity Coach
This season marks Coach Kreider’s 36th year of coaching high school basketball and his 16th year as head coach at Manheim Township. Previously he was an assistant coach at Lancaster Catholic for 7 years, the varsity coach at Elizabethtown High School for 2 years and was Pat Mowrey’s assistant for 11 years. Jim is a 1974 graduate of Gannon University and currently teaches chemistry at Manheim Township High School. Jim and his wife, Mary, have been married for 33 years and have two children, Marisa, 31 and Jimmy, 27.

Matt Johns - Varsity Assistant Coach
This is Coach Johns’ 13th year as coach at Manheim Township and 11th year at the Varsity level. Previously Matt coached at Manheim Central. He is originally from Huntingdon, PA and played on a District 6 Champion basketball team. He graduated in 1997 from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education. He is a Social Studies teacher at Manheim Township High School. Matt and his wife, Noel, have a son, Tyson, and a daughter, Tori. The Johns’ family lives in Manheim Township.

Joe Calhoun - Junior Varsity Coach
Joe was born and raised in Philadelphia. He attended Penn State University where he received his B.S. in meteorology in 1981. He has been employed by Pulitzer Broadcasting since 1983. Joe and his wife Denise live in Manheim Township with their three sons and daughter. He has coached a variety of youth sports over the years and has been coaching basketball for 26 years. Joe has coached at St. Anne’s in Lancaster and previously served as the Freshman Coach at Manheim Township. He is in his 16th year of coaching here at Manheim Township.
